How to invest in the JSE
To get broad exposure to the JSE, you could invest in the JSE Top 40 Index through FxPro.com. The JSE Top 40 Index is a basket of shares that tracks the performance of the largest JSE-listed companies by market value. The index is weighted towards basic resources, mining as well as the personal & household goods sectors. Together, these sectors account for approximately half of the index’s market capitalization.
Alternatively, you could invest in JSE-listed companies directly. These include Naspers, mining giants Anglo American and BHP Group Plc or financial services players such as Standard Bank Group and Firstrand Limited. Open an account with Plus500.com to trade CFDs on the shares of most JSE-listed companies without commission. Or visit eToro.com to buy shares in these companies outright (commission may apply).
