Nowadays, automated Forex trading is available across a range of platforms including MT4, cAlgo and JForex.

MetaTrader 4

Forex trading robots monitor the market for trade ideas and make autonomous trading decisions. They can trade when you’re asleep or away from your desk. And also take emotions out of trading.

Forex trading robots are known as Expert Advisors (EA) on the MetaTrader platform. You could design your own in MQL, the programming language behind MetaTrader, or source one from the MT4 community. Some users make their robots available for free, however, you should expect to pay for commercial implementations.

cAlgo is an algorithmic trading platform built with automated trading in mind.

If you have an interest in programming, you could code your own robots and indicators using C#, a popular cross-platform language. Alternatively, you could use the Modern C# API to build your own with no prior programming skills required.

cAlgo is available from Plus500 Metals and FxPro . Of note, Plus500 Metals's implementation comes with 19 free trading robots and over 150 custom indicators. However, you could download more from the cTrader developer network.
